ABOUT US
We are a local Waiheke Island family offering a professional and valuable Pest Management service to both residential and commercial clients located on the Island.
Owners, Jean and Kristie, having run a specialised cleaning company on Waiheke Island for 3 years called On The Spot Cleaning Services, saw that the Island was in need of a local professional Pest Management service, and therefore decided to launch Bug Patrol.
Bug Patrol aims to provide a comprehensive and cost-effective pest Management solution to the local community. Our staff are friendly, helpful, informative and pay attention to our client’s needs
WHAT WE DO
We offer monthly, quarterly, and annual service plans. All our visits are logged in our Booking system together with a time stamp to verify our presence on the premises.
For a regular residential home, it will depend on the solution used to treat your pests to determine how regularly you need to have your home treated. The stronger the preventive solutions, the lower the likelihood of pests coming back to your home. It can range from a monthly visit to a quarterly or even once every 6-12 months.
Pests come and go and the best thing you can do as a homeowner is to prevent them from coming back. Prevention is however not a one-time process, if you stick to this concept, pests will continue to return to your home. You need regular treatment as a preventive measure. You need to invest in prevention controls so you can get rid of what is damaging your property.
A regular monthly visit from your Pest Management team will give them enough time to assess if the pesticides are effective or if there are any adjustments that need to be done. But of course, there are still factors to consider such as the level of infestation, the size of your home, the weather conditions, and the type of pests.
The safest treatment is prevention.
There are seasons where the need for Pest Management is lessened. The coldness of the winter season helps homeowners so they can cut back temporarily. However, there are mammal pests like rats and mice that are going to look for warmth and shelter in your home rather than leaving during winter. Additionally, some pests are more frequent in winter. For example, cockroaches and ants are both a common pest issue during the wetter, winter months. If you think this is likely to happen, make sure to contact your Pest Management team so they can implement the best treatment for you.

It depends on the type of treatment. Your technician will provide post-treatment information. Remember that if your property has been sprayed inside then no one should go inside for at least four hours (including pets).
